Description of
the Prophet Mohammed
The following is an excerpt from the book
entitled "The Message of Mohammad", by Athar Husain.
Ibn Rushd - The
Great Muslim Philosopher
One of the
foremost figures of Arab civilization, he became known as the 'Prince of
Science’ - the master of jurisprudence, mathematics, medicine and, above
all, philosophy.
Islam in the
Modern World
A brief review
of the beginnings of modern Islamic history, and the major historical
forces of the 19th and 20th centuries. By Ibrahim Abu-Rabi.
Arabic
Influences in the English Language
(Habeeb Salloum)
My late colleague, James
Peters, and I examined over 500,000 English words and found that, from
these, some 3,000 basic words and 5,000 of their derivatives have some
connection with the language of the Qur'an.
History of
Islam
Islam is not, as some
imagine in the West, a religion of the sword nor did it spread primarily
by means of war.
BILAAL IBN RABAH (R)
Bilaal ibn Rabah (May Allah be pleased with
him) was a black Ethiopian slave who was freed for the sake of Allah by
Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq.
ABU BAKR
AS-SIDDEEQ (r)
His name was Abd-Allah ibn Uthmaan ibn Aamir
(May Allah be pleased with him) and he was the companion who accompanied
the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) when he emigrated from Mecca to Medina.
UMAR IBN
AL-KHATTAB (r)
He was from the nobles of
the tribe of the Quraish and before the advent of Islam, he held the
position of mediator for the tribe in the event of war.
Digging for
the Red Roots
For the most part, not many people are aware
of the Native American contact with Islam that began over one thousand
years ago by some of the early Muslim travelers who visited us.
Islamic Flags
It has been confirmed in many narrations
that there are two flags in Islam; the first is called Al-Liwaa and
serves as the sign for the leader of the Muslim army. It is also the
flag of the Islamic State. The other is termed Ar-Raya and is used by
the Muslim army.
Islam in
America before Columbus
Columbus further admitted that on October 21st, 1492, as he was sailing
past Gibara on the coast of Cuba, he saw a mosque, and remnants of other
masjids have been found in Cuba, Mexico, Texas and Nevada.
